Privacy when converting audio

Understand local processing, temporary browser results and the separate music search data flow.

Conversion runs on your device

The selected audio file is not uploaded to the Turkucu server for MP3 encoding. Your browser decodes it and creates MP3 data in a worker. Page and code files are fetched over the network; processing your audio recording is local.

Results are not a permanent archive

Output is stored in this browser’s local database with a one-hour expiry. An open result clears on expiry; other expired records are cleaned on your next visit. Use Delete result to remove the current record sooner. On a shared device, manage your browser data after downloading the output too.

Music search has a different data flow

Your search term is passed through Turkucu to Wikimedia Commons. Previews come from Wikimedia servers; downloads are relayed through Turkucu. The server and source provider can see normal network request information. Do not enter confidential names or private content into search; read the privacy page for details.
